Hannah Allawi is an Architect, Urban Designer & Researcher currently pursuing her PhD in Architecture at the University of Calgary focusing on the Arab Gulf States (the GCC), primarily, the United Arab Emirates. Her research revolves around the use of mobile Augmented Reality technology within the initiatives of Smart Cities and their 'Smart Tourism' experience. She is currently working toward the revival of lost Modern architecture and urban spaces of the city of Abu Dhabi as a primary case study. She has interned with Amin Taha Architects in London, UK and Atelier Hitoshi Abe in Sendai, Japan and has recently practiced with the firm, Building Design Partnership in Abu Dhabi, UAE. 

Hannah holds a NAAB accredited 5-year Bachelor of Architecture degree with minors in Design Management and Urban Design from the American University of Sharjah, UAE and a Master of Science in Architecture & Urban Design from Columbia University, USA.
